Swimming to Victory!

Tonight I got to see some swimming finals at the Commonwealth Games! Ian Thorpe was supposed to be swimming tonight, but had to pull out of the games because of bronchitis. We did get to see a lot of great races, though, and several faces I knew!



Here we have the medal ceremony for the Women's 50m Breaststroke which was an Aussie sweep! 1st was Leisel Jones, 2nd Jade Edmistone, and 3rd Tarnee White. To our surprise, Condoleezza Rice presented the medals for this event!

And I also had the pleasure of seeing Michael Klim swim, although this was just the semifinal for the Men's 50m Butterfly. He is the bald guy in the green suit, 4th from the left. He has quite a few medals from the Olympics, mostly in relays, but also a silver in 100m Butterfly at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
