Americans in Oz

This afternoon we decided to take the train ride on the Puffing Billy, Australia's century-old steam train. Here are Mark, Nicole & Stephen before we hopped onto the train.

And of course we couldn't miss this fun photo opportunity! Where's Nicole?!?
A little while into to the lovely train ride, we were enjoying the scenery, when all of a sudden we heard a crunch and then we came to a halting stop. A tree had fallen across the tracks and we ran in to it and pushed it a bit! We knew we would be there awhile, so most of the passengers were getting out and milling around watching to see what would happen.

One of the Aussies who lived next to the tracks came out to see what was the matter. Then he went back for his chainsaw and started sawing. Stephen & Mark helped to push the cut trunks out of the way and then we were all back on the train and on our merry way about 20 mins after we stopped :)

The rest of the ride went smoothly and we were able to check out all the beautiful scenery and fall colors!

How exciting, and rustic the trip sounds, what with having to clear the tracks yourself! It looks like you are all having a great time.
